Frequently Asked Questions
Mid-Century Modern Book
Are any of your Mid-Century Modern characters based on Real People?
Mid-Century Modern is a family saga/literary fiction book with a wide range of characters. Many of them are sparked from people I have seen in Palm Springs or interacted with in my life. None of the characters are specific people.
WAS THere really a flood in Palm Springs on Valentines Day?
Yes! The Valentine’s Day flood in 2019 hit me as so ironic to consider a flooding of the desert, but it really did happen. Many roads were washed away. Doing an internet search of the event will supply amazing videos.
Do you participate in book signings or book clubs?
I am starting this slowly with some book clubs on Mid-Century Melee in Palm Springs and may expand to other cities or consider online options.
In Mid-Century Modern, Which Character is Most like the author?
This seems to be a common question asked of authors. The typical responses range from “none of them” to “all of them.” I can say that I have grown attached to them all during the process of writing and was surprised how some minor characters took on more as the story developed. My question to the reader is that of which ones are most like you and why?
Pieces of Peace Book
Why did you create Pieces of Peace?
There are many friends in my life searching for ways to deal with daily stresses in their lives. The ability to find relaxation or escape for even a few moments can help give the mind a break or a reset. I didn't find anything that fit this niche besides options that were exclusively puzzle books or journals.
Where did you get the poems?
Most of the poems are from writer friends generous enough to contribute their work toward Pieces of Peace. Some can be found on Substack and other social media sites and one has published works.
Why did you name it ‘Pieces of Peace’?
The title connects to what so many of my friends are looking for, quick ways to find calm. Supplying ideas to bring moments of mindfulness and reflection or literally pieces of peace.
Will there be future volumes of ‘Pieces of peace’?
For now the hope is to see how the first issue of ‘Pieces of Peace’ is received and then decide about the future. Part of peace is enjoying the moment. I would be happy to hear your ideas in the Contact Us section.
